cannot go to safe mode & xp

This morning, i suddenly can't start my window to the normal xp screen,when i try to log on from safe mode, it just stuck in the middle n will not go on safe mode, it also not allow me to format via boot from cd... what should i do now?

I follow the instrucion on Repair Windows XP, How to Perform an In-Place Upgrade
, but when it comes to step 4, the option doesnt show, it just blank in blue, i been waiting for 5 minutes now.. still blank blue page, what should i do,, please help :tazz:
