my dvd/cd drive is gone

well i went into my computer and my D drive or my dvd/cd drive was gone. i dont think i deleted it becuase i went into the device manager and is was there but it had a yellow exclamation mark on it. i try the troubleshoot and it told me to uninstal it and then reinstal it but that didn't work. also when i try and put a cd or dvd into the drive nothing happens and i cant play it. how do i get my drive back?
