Hi, my name is Pablo.

I cant really say when exactly my problems started with allaboutsearching.com, but I believe they started about one week ago. I have attempted different software programs (spybot, etc) to eliminate but nothing seems to help. In addition, I think I have messed my computer alot more by just checking and deleting everything that was a "threat" file.

Please help.

My email for contact info. 'email removed'

I have included my HJT.log.:

First, let's try Ad-aware. Be sure you have the latest reference file: 01R285 11.04.2004

Using Ad-aware: Open Ad-Aware and use the Check for updates now link. Download and accept the latest reference file. When finished click the Start button. When done scanning, the Abort button will change to Next. Click the Next button. Right-click in the Scanning Results window and click "Select all objects". Then click the "Next" button and confirm that you want to delete the selected entries.

When finished, Reboot your computer, and post a fresh Hijack log.

Not clean yet. First, we need to remove the pepper trojan. Download this file, run, and let terminate (it won't appear to have done much <_< ):
http://mjc1.com/file...page/uninst.exe

When finished reboot and paste a new log. :D

Well it's still there. Download and run this file again (remain online): http://mjc1.com/file...page/uninst.exe

Next, please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

C:\windows\temp\qHjBd.exe
C:\windows\temp\4MMes.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Uqc9Q5.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Hjq2.exe
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\WINDOWS\System32/left.html
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch =
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MYE] C:\docume~1\michel~1\locals~1\temp\MYE.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [LBQYYn] C:\windows\temp\LBQYYn.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [qHjBd] C:\windows\temp\qHjBd.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [4MMes] C:\windows\temp\4MMes.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [4S2NSLA3QS#366] C:\WINDOWS\System32\Slnt.exe

Delete all the files from C:\Windows\temp folder
1. Double-click My Computer.
2. Go into the C:/Windows folder
3. Double-click the Temp folder.
4. Mouse over Edit and choose Select All.
5. Press Delete on your keyboard.

Delete your Internet temp files:
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Choose Tools and single-click Internet Options.
3. In the Temporary Internet Files box, choose Delete Files.

Restart in safe mode (by tapping F8 at startup and selecting Safe Mode from the menu). Delete these files:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Uqc9Q5.exe <- this file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Hjq2.exe <- this file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Slnt.exe <- this file

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log.

Hi,

I hope I did everything correctly since I am not that god with computers. I was unable to find and delete the Slnt.exe file. I also had trouble deleting 4MMes and qHjBd before I was in Safe Mode, but was able to during Safe Mode. :D <_< I do not know if that was the right thing to do but here is my Log:

We're getting slowly there--slowly. <_<

Download and run this file again (remain online): http://mjc1.com/file...page/uninst.exe

Reboot, then run again (we're running it twice this time).

Reboot and paste a fresh log.

A couple questions.

Are you online when you run the uninstaller?

Does your system have a firewall?

A firewall can be software like ZoneAlarm, Sygate, Tiny, or a hardware firewall like found in a wireless router. A firewall can block traffic into and out of your computer. Since the uninstaller needs access to the Internet, a firewall may block it, preventing it from working. It doesn't sound as if you have a firewall installed.

P.S. Windows XP has a built-in firewall, but it doesn't block outgoing traffic, so we don't need to be concerned about it now. When using a broadband connection we recommend you at least enable the XP firewall, or install ZoneAlarm's free version.

Let's try the uninstaller again, from another source: http://www.memorywat....com/uninst.exe

:D Congratulations! Your system is CLEAN <_<

If everything seems to be working okay you can delete the Hijack This folder.

How do you prevent spyware from being installed again? We strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster (it's free for personal use).

Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Consumes no system resources.

Download, run, check for updates, download updates, select all, protect against checked. All done. Check for updates every couple of weeks. If you have any errors running the program like a missing file see the link at the bottom of the javacool page.
Link to SpywareBlaster: http://www.javacools...areblaster.html

It's also very important to keep your system up to date to avoid unnecessary security risks. Click Here to make sure that you have the latest patches for Windows.
