Compaq helped me. They sent me an EXE fix . I just click the item and it added or repaired (dont know which) a regristry key. All my programs work good as new again. I have provided the file so you may help others with the same problem. It only works with XP though.

THANK YOU!!! This repaired my problem - after I got the XP Guardian 2010 virus on my daughters old computer. Saved me a ton. Thanks again!

Unbelievable. I am a new registrant to geekstogo and found my fix immediately. None of my exe files would launch nor could I launch an XP fix. However, the Dell link provided by the member from Florida fixed it in seconds after hours of research and uninstalling and reinstalling applications. Fantastic! Thank you.

Hi there,
I have the same problem but don't have a Windows XP CD as when I bought my computer, Windows XP was already installed. Any ideas what I can do.
Many thanks
