Did you reinstall the software for the wireless card?
It says the device is working properly.

could you please tell me what's the error messgae you get when you scan for wireless network.

ok, that means it isn't broken, but do you have the software installed? The device should have come with an installation CD which installs the software that makes it work.
the device came with the computer. I do have the Toshiba Recover and Applications/ Drivers Cd that came with the Laptop but when I put the cd in it says that its not the right cd for that computer.

That's strange. Download SIW and use it to find out the brand and model number of your wireless card.
After I get the info on what kind of Card it is what should I do next?

Turn the laptop off and pull the card out. Look at the card and find the name of the card and the Part Number. Then I'll be able to help ya out.
