Win98SE - Unable to install on new HD

Can you hear the cd-rom spinning up as it copies files...or is it just sitting there?

Update
It hung up and on reboot it said WINIST0.400 was damage. Fixed , them amount of free space was wrong. Fixed. Insatalled 98SE . Now it reboots and say vnetbios.vxd missing. Where do I find or will it be picked up with XP installation?
OH on F1 bios . It Config=Network,Wake on Lan and Flash on Lan disabled.
As it went thu 98 installation and updating plug and play and other item it found iit did not read D:
After reboot and putting XP upgrade in everything is goinf fine.

The XP Upgrade will fix a lot of what is ailing...let me know if you run into any problems... I'll be bouncing around here for a few more hours tonight.

Could you tell me what a USB Flash drive would do for me?

In reading about the T30...which I did a considerable amount of the last couple days...we could have used a flash drive like a floppy, copied the startup disk to it, and booted to it. It was stated that it only works on certain builds of that machine, but it sure would have been worth a try.....
