Monitor doesnt turn on

My monitor keeps failing to turn on when i boot my computer up. Most of the time the orange light just stays on the monitor, sometimes it goes on goes through the screen with white writing and turns off again. I have to try quite alot of times to get my monitor to come on. Its not the cables as ive tested them so i think my computer isnt always sending a signal to the monitor. Can anyone please help? :tazz:
