adding DVD Rom to dell dimentions tower?

Would I have to use a drive from Dell or would any brand work? Thanks.

Any brand should work as long as you have a spare end to an IDE cable or a spare IDE slot and of course a free drive bay in the case.

One side note, you may have to remove the front cover and slide the drive in from the front, I helped a fellow in here that could not get a dvd drive in from the side because the psu was in the way
