Dell Inspiron 8000 replacement battery won't charge...even after upgdating BIOS to A17 which is supposed to solve this problem per Dell tech FORUM.

Old battery was 4 1/2 years old and only lasted 20 minutes or so, but this is even worse - it won't last longer than 5-10 minutes!

New (Panasonic) battery only charges to 8%......battery is designed to replace the Dell 75UYF model.

Anybody got any ideas? :tazz:
