Over the last week or so I have had 3 blue screen crashes. The first two I did not get to write down what caused it but tonight I caught it and it was win32k.sys Page_Fault_In-Nonpaged_Area. BF8EEFA3 base at BF00000 Datestamp 43446958. Also, over the last few days I have had IE6 crashes caused by jscprpt.dll and flash8.ocx. I read the pinned topic about Blue Screen codes and while I did install new ram a few months ago the problems are much more recent. Could system ram fail over time like this (still relatively quickly) or would it be more likely to have caused problems right from the time of install?

The IE6 crashes seem completely random...no consistency as to what page/type of page being viewed when crashes occur.

System is XPHome SP2.

More info - woke up this morning to another Blue Screen. IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL No specific information as to a driver or cause was given. Also, this must have happened during the night when no programs were actively running, crash happened from desktop.

well....ram can go bad...at any time for any reason...so the ram could be faulty...try taking out the new ram and doing this

In safe mode:

Right click MY COMPUTER, choose PROPERTIES, choose ADVANCED, choose the SETTINGS button in the Startup And RECOVERY section, and uncheck AUTOMATICALLY RESTART

Now reboot. This should result in the BSOD error...report the STOP ERROR and any parameters.

if you don't get a BSOD then put the ram back in and restart again

Thanks dsenette. Just to make sure I do it correctly......I did already have the "automatic restart" unchecked which is how I caught the crash from last night. Do you want me to start up the system with no ram at all? Or do you want me to remove the new ram and put the old back in? I just wanted to be sure before I proceeded.....
