I have Windows XP Prof on a DELL system. I have 80 GB HDD and 1 GB RAM on this.

When I try to launch any application e.g. say Calculator by going to the Start menu --> All Programs--> Accessories --> Calculator, I am not able to view past one or two levels. That is I am not able to see the submenu which contains Calculator pop up, after I reach the Accessories menu. Instead a vague outline just appears.

This problem happens most of the times. Sometimes I am able to see each level of Submenus.

I am perplexed. Can anybody tell me why this happens please?

Thanks in advance for your time.
