I've installed the motherboard (ASUS P5GD1-VM) and connected the power supply and just using onboard graphics and sound to see if everything starts fine, i get 1 long beep and 2 short ones, any idea what the problem is and how to fix it. The manual does not list anything on the beep codes so it has me a bit lost

AWARD BIOS BEEP CODES

Below are Award BIOS Beep codes that can occur. However, because of the wide variety of different computer manufacturers with this BIOS, the beep codes may vary.

Beep Code Description
1 long, 2 short Indicates a video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information

that's what i've got for that beep code. the same is listed for ibm bios...though i would assume it would be award with that board...

is the board still under warranty? i would call asus or whoever you bought it from and see if you can send it back as an RMA...being that you are only using onboard video..if there's an error..i would assume that it would be a faulty board
