PHP is a scripting language, it can generate HTML code. HTML is what your browser reads to display a webpage.

I cannot give you a yes or no answer until I know where you would like to stick that HTML tag. If you insert it inside a php script, you may have problems.

Generaly if you are going to add HTML to a PHP page prefix it with

<?php
echo "html goes here";
?>
