i was just playing for 15 min or so switching around servers and lagging theres no new events that happened while i was playing

Paul,

You could try restarting your computer in 'Safe Mode with Networking', connecting to the Internet manually, and then trying to play your game... See if you still recieve the lag spikes.

Alternatively, you could attempt to connect your computer directly to your modem, and see if you still recieve the lag spikes.
