BitComet and spyware etc.

I installed bitComet and pretty soon after that I started
having problems with trojans spyware and popups.
Particularly when trying to open windows like my Computer,
dr. watson thingie appeared and crashed.
Ad-aware, spyware and trojans kept coming
all the time.

because of bitcomet ?
