Creating an association

Hi everyone I am new to your part of the world but I like it already....

My daughter sent me a song off a CD she wanted me to hear when I clicked on it,
I got the message: The program does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the folder option control panel.

We both have new Dells so we are kinda like the blind leading the blind.

I would appreciate any help you could offer.
