Ok i did that and now the printer works! Thank you.

Yet i am still wondering about this.

On the host computer I went to
Start
Find
Find computer on network
and then typed in the Windows 98 computers name and it found it.

I guess i am wondering when i save somthing on The host i have to save it into the 98 folder.

I do the same on the 98.

start, find, computers, then i type in the host's name. It cannot find it. I have tried the name, full name, description,. and nothing worked. Is it possible for me to save somthing from the 98 into a shared file on the host. Not just saving a file into a shared file on the 98 and then looking for it on the host. Instead of it being in a file on the xp(host). This is hard to explain let me know what you think i said and if you understand

ilovecolgate,
I believe I understand what you are saying. The problem you're having is a result of the fine-line security on Windows XP, as opposed to the non-existent security on Windows 98.

First thing's first -- disable any firewalls on the Windows XP computer, including the Windows Firewall --> to disable the Windows Firewalls, goto Start, Settings, Control Panel, select Security Center, select Windows Firewall, select the option Off (not recommended). Now, try to connect to the XP computer again from the Windows 98 computer; can you now connect to the Windows XP computer?

If you still cannot connect, please post back.
