I have just reformated my hard drive, installed Windows XP Home, Office 2003, started to connect to the internet and got the messenger services window "Stop! Windows Requires Immediate Attention. Windows has found 55 critical errors. To fix do the following:
1. Download Registry Update
2. Install Registry Update
3. Run Registry Update
4. Reboot

Failure to act now may lead to system failure.

Should I do this, or download windows updates from microsoft?

Make sure you have a firewall running, also an updated anti virus programme, run a scan then go to Microsoft Update

The onscreen messages should then stop, if they do not, download and run this
