Open the registry editor (Start>Run>type regedit>click Ok)

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CD Burning\Drives and click on the "Volume" folder...in the right pane, double click on "Drive Type"...Type 2 into the Value Data box and click "Ok"

Is there more than one "Volume" folder listed?

Open "My Computer", right click on the "DVD-ROM" drive, and select "Properties". Is there a "Record" tab?

Let me know what you find...

SEMPER FI

Howdy!

Do I hear Progress???

Open Device Manager and right click on your cd/rw drive (is that what it is?) and select "Uninstall"...accept the change and reboot.

Let Windows reinstall the device and let me know how it goes....
