When I try to open and desktop I get this error and when I press okay, my desktop resets and the folder doesn't open. =[ Any help is appreciated.

I've been having the same message and problem for a couple of months too.
I've tried downloading spyware software but to no avail.

Can't open files or programs or use the recycle bin....It's been very frustrating....

I'm worried about doing a reboot from the Boot disk...did you try that yet? Wondering if anyone else has done that with success before I give it a try.

Any help would be appreciated

jelster...i suspect you have two problems going on.

One likely a video driver problem where the driver improperly accesses the windows video subsystem. The other is likely spyware/malware.

There is another forum for the latter, but since I need the info for the first, post a hijackthis log here and I will try to help you with both.
