Goto Start, Run, type CMD, press 'OK' and then type: IPCONFIG /ALL - copy down the following details:
IP Address ...........
Subnet Mask .......
Default Gateway ........
Goto Start --> Programs --> Accessories --> Communications --> Network Connections.

Right click on your connection, and select Properties. Click on Internet Protocl (TCP/IP) once, then press the Properties button. Select the option Use the following IP Address: and enter in the details you wrote down earlier.

Once done, press okay -- restart your computer, and then try to play the game again -- do you still get disconnected?

Try restarting your computer in Safe Mode with Networking and then connect to the Internet, and try to play the online video clip again; does it freeze?

Have you recieved any errors today in your Event Log? ie: after setting up a Static IP?

Userenv
Windows saved user YOUR-**********\Owner registry while an application or service was still using the registry during log off. The memory used by the user's registry has not been freed. The registry will be unloaded when it is no longer in use.

This is often caused by services running as a user account, try configuring the services to run in either the LocalService or NetworkService account.

I'll try to the safe mode now. I'll keep u informed after I do this.

That would suggest that it's some sort of software on your computer causing the issue.

Please download HijackThis. Run it and perform a scan -- save the log and then from the log, please post all of the Running Processes.

Also, please post an Uninstall List:
To get an Uninstall List from HijackThis:
  • Open HijackThis, click Config, click Misc Tools
  • Click "Open Uninstall Manager"
  • Click "Save List" (generates uninstall_list.txt)
  • Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.

Pat,

I can see at least one worm on your system. Please follow the steps here. It may be necessary (if you're still experiencing problems after following all of these steps) to post a HJT log here.

Please post back once you have done the above.

Thanks,
Dan.

It depends how far you go back...
But first, I'd suggest downloading WinPatrol. Click Download Now -- and then install it. Once installed, run it and click on the Startup Programs tab. Now, look for the following files, and if found, click on them once, and then click on Disable, or Remove -- as you see fit. This will simply stop them from starting at startup -- you will still be able to access them manually.

:tazz: I forgot to mention... Once you have done the above, restart your computer and then see if you still get disconnected whilst watching the online video clips.

For some odd reason I don't see them in the list. I only see MCUpdateEXE, MCagentEXE,WinPatrol, Winlogin Userinit, and Win Login Shell.
