Is it possible to have certain processes run only on a specific account? ie, my kids use instant messenger services, but I don't, I don't want the IM services to run when I'm loged on to my account.

I haven't heard of anyway to restrict processes from running. However if the im programs are starting under your account you just need to remove them from regedit under the below. However the local_machine section will remove it from automatically starting for anybody.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
