computer freezing

i installed all of the disks from cosmi's internet protection plan which includes a firewall, spyware,spam blocker, antivirus, & a popup blocker. after installing i restarted like it told me to and now my desktop freezes, the hour-glass above the cursor appears and then i can't open anything. the only thing different that appears is a anti virus message from norman ,not norton, norman. i can move the cursor so i don't know if it's classified as freezing
i'm lost. i want to restart in safe mode to see if i can just uninstall everything but i don't know how to restart in safe mode. i'm running in windows xp

Boot the PC and keep tapping the F8 key until you get options, choose safe mode with networking to see if you can uninstall, the installer may not run in safe mode
