This should be an easy one if you know how!

When i hover my cursor over an icon on a web page, I dont get the beige colored alt/title text text box displaying info about the link etc.

For instance, on magicseaweed.com they have wind speed arrows that when you hover cursor over, the beige text box tells you the wind direction info. This feature works on my PC at work, but not at home.

Please advise?

If you're using Firefox at home, it won't display the contents of an ALT tag without the hand of an extension; that's because the proper tag is TITLE, which Firefox will use where available.

Now having said that, the plug-in for Firefox that enables the ability to display ALT tags as tooltips doesn't work properly under Firefox 1.5; with it being quite tempermental.

Hi again gerry,

Cnanged my Advanced settings to default - no joy.

Downloaded and ran the IE fixer but most of the files it requires are on Windows XP CD Rom which I dont have, such as IEXPLORE.EXE html32.cnv msconv97.dll DHTMLED.OCX TRIEDIT.DLL mswrd632.wpc

let's try the manual method

Click Start, Run and type the following commands one by one and press Enter

REGSVR32 MSHTMLED.DLL

REGSVR32 JSCRIPT.DLL

REGSVR32 /i MSHTML.DLL

also, did you go through each tab on IE Tools >Internet Options, and hit DEFAULT?
