Recently formated hard drive after boot up it didn't see the optical mouse I have been using for the past year.
I had to run to walmart at 9:00 at night for the cheapest mouse they had.
I'm using a Compaq, Athlon 600, 98 se. The mouse is a compaq from a newer computer xp. No Install Disc. :tazz:

You could try looking at the bottom of the mouse and see if it lists who makes it, quite often it is Logitech, then download the drivers from the company who makes it.
