Can any of you experts’ advice me on which of these Anti-virus programs offers the best protection Avast Home Edition 4.6 or ZoneAlarm Anti-virus version 6.1. I posted a similar question some time ago & to date I received absolutely no response. I sincerely trust that on this occasion I will obtain the usual valued & expert reply.

I cannot give you a valued and expert reply on Zone Alarm Antivirus, as I have not tried it.

I can tell you that Avast is a comparable AV program and in some ways superior to McAfee and Norton Antivirus (partitcularly when it comes to utilizing system resources--it is less resource hungry than the two above).

Avast is updated reguarly, often daily, offers realtime protection, and scans emails. Another free AV program is AVG. I vascilate back and forth between the two depending on the month, but can recommend them both.

If you are interested in purchasing a AV package, I would recommend either Kapersky or Nod-32, both excellent packages and slightly better than the two aforementioned free ones
