I was on a website and clicked on a link. I got a pop up saying something about pop64. It closed by itself and then my computer started freezing up. I turned it off and restarted it. Now it won't let me get online at all. I click on the Internet Explorer icon and get a pop up stating that it has "recieved an error and had to close." I also keep getting a pop up stating that "pop64 has received an error and had to close, send error report?" The weird thing is that I can chat through Yahoo instant messenger which starts up at start up, so I know I have a connection, but I can't manually open the internet. I don't know if you can help since I can't access the internet from my own computer, but I thought there might be a chance. I have online classes and am falling behind because I can't get on the internet! Please help me get rid if this nightmare! :tazz: Thanks so much.

PS. I am using a friends account. My computer with the problem is an HP pavilion ze4200, Windows XP

Please go to the malware forum in my signature and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
