IE and Microsoft Outlook problem

Please help. Don't know if these problems are related, I am having trouble viewing my emails in ms outlook. I can log into and see items in my inbox, but I can not open any. I thought it maybe because of my pop-up blocker, but when I disabled it I still get no response. Also anytime I try to download an item on the internet. I get an msg stating that IE has encountered an err and would i like to send a rpt.
