I am starting a smal new business and need some sort of programme to link booking appointments, invoicing expenses, databases etc... is there a free programme that is easy to use or can someone please give me some advice. Have tried excel and access with not much luck.

I don't know of any free programs that work very well. You can sometimes purchase Peachtree for free after rebate, but the best and most well known program is Quickbooks.

It's so important to keep to good books when running a small business, I'd recommend you invest in some good software. An added benefit is that it gives you a much more professional appearance, and helps when it comes tax time.
