I sometimes hear voices in the background on my computer. I turn the volume WAY up to hear and can barely hear them, but I hear them. It is the voice of a guy and he is talking about Faith and having Faith ... etc...
I didn't pay close attention to all the words as I had to try to turn everything else off to be able to hear.

Got any ideas on this one?

just kidding, couldn't resist.

Uhm, what kind of connection to the Internet are you using? Cable?DSL?

Does the situation recur if you remove the connection (unplug the network cable)

It has happened on 2 different connections. I HAD Dial-up and it happened a couple of times then. Now I have Satellite and it happened this morning. The first times it happened, it just didn't dawn on me to post here with a question about it. This time something said to go to Geeks to Go and see if it happens to anyone else?

I WILL look into those other sites :tazz:

how long are your speaker cables? They can act as an antenna and pick up radio waves...better shielded wires (and shorter) might make this go away

hmmm .... that thought did sort of cross my mind .... but didn't think it very probable. Thanks,
:tazz:

Thanks ... I'll look for some shielded cables or shielding for them. (Do they make either?)

Move your speakers closer, get a ferrite rod and wrap the cord tightly around it.

Ferrite beads? Do you mean rings?

Radioshack has them

Moondog830,

I usually keep open the tv listings on Yahoo.com. Sometimes, they have it set up to paly an ad at different times. I have had it come on several times even with the page minimized and have had to turn the sound down on my speakers if I wanted to keep the page open. Maybe there are other sites that do the same thing. Do you have any web pages open that may be playing ads when this happens?
