Hey,

I have Windows XP Home Edition SP2, and whenever I open my Computer and Right Click the Floppy Drive, my Floppy Drive makes a lound whirring sound for about 3 Seconds. When the Right Click menu shows up, and I click Properties, the sound starts again.

I have tried putting floppy discs into the drive, and it works properly.

In the Properties Menu under the Hardware Tab, it says that the Device Is Working Properly.

The Device Manager does not show any conflicts or problems.

Hi there, retrac1324

What you have described is perfectly normal behaviour. It's just one of Windows's annoying habits & happens with every version if Windows I can think of.

Yes, I'm sure :tazz:
Mine actually whirrs for about 4-5 seconds each time, so count yourself lucky yours is only 3 seconds!
