Please help me solve System Reboot while trying to install

HI All.
I am building pc for the first time
with below config
hitachi sata 1 160 gb
ga-k8nf-9 motherboard
ddr pc3200 kington 1gig X2
atholon 64 3700 +
gigabyte 6200 TC video card

I did install xp without the controll driver which is on the gigabyte website.
when I am trying to install the utility cd ( drivers) came with the motherboard.
System reboots every time and it is in the loop. For that matter the cd can be any thing
may be windows office. If any one have solution do please help me out.
