I just recently downloaded firefox for my computer and deleted (or so i thought) internet explorer. However, now I am getting uncontrollable popups via internet explorer and I cannot do anything to absolve this problem.
I've tried re-downloading IE to add its popup blocker
ive tried using firefox's popup blocker
ive tried installing 3rd party popup blockers
Nothing has worked up to this point and I'm willing to try anything so if anybody can help me out, my email address is email address removed for members' security
Thanks

Hello and welcome to GeeksToGo. Sounds like a Malware infection, for sure.

I'm curious, though. Why did you delete IE?? That's not a good idea. There are a few things (albeit a VERY few) taht IE is needed for. I myself rarely use it, and I know a good portion of our Staff doesn't either. But we still don't recommend uninstalling it completely. For one thing, it can make Windows itself unstable, and cause problems. :tazz:

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
