I'm at about the same spot as you as far as building a computer, though I'm pretty set on BFG Tech BFGR78256GTCOD2 Geforce 7800GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 VIVO PCI Express x16 Video Card bundled with Call of Duty 2, even though it's expensive.

If you want one card the 7800gt I would get but for $83 more dollars you could have 2 of those 6800gs's in sli mode.

Yes, I got the one almost like that, but its already overclocked when you get it so, its pretty good!

Yes you have sli support on your motherboard and it comes with the bridge already to connect between the 2 video cards you pick out.

pick out 2 6800gs video cards

evga,xfx,pny,bfg are good manufacturers

From the same manufacturer and of the same model as well, they altered it so you are supposed to be able to run cards from different manufacturers as long as it was the same model but i dont trust it so get two evga or two xfx and one of one and one of the other.

SLI = scalable link interface if i remember right.

basically two gfx cards working together, it would mean you have two GPUs processing data each with there own set of 256Mb of memory making a large 512Mb, two 6800GS are more powerful than a single 7800GTX with the same amount of memory and its cheaper so two 6800GS is a good way to go.

kinda cool 48 pipelines and its true 512Mb card. The Gddr4 ones arent out yet though. Good price on them all he x1800s have gone down alot as well today some of them are 50 pounds cheaper so ATI totally whipping Nvidia on pricing. And the x1900 from the couple of reviews ive read even with errors on the drivers has given the 7800GTX a good kicking and still £100 pounds cheaper than the GTX im very impressed.

Go w/ the 7800 GT, then when it doesnt cut it buy another 4 Sli dont get Sli 6800 GS, its kinda pointless now. EVGA gets complaints from people about overheating but its mostly a solid card. I have one factory OC 445/1100 which is better than BFGs 425/1025 and have never had problems.

Yeah im in the UK ATI are more on par with pricing in the US whereas here ATI are lots cheaper in Europe and Asia by a considerable amount, so over here its always for me ATI dead cert as a hundred quid is alot of money($170 and then some) and lots of price cuts on the x1800s which were roughly equal to the GTX and those are now all under £300.

Yeah, ATi is better in Britain then here. They are more expensive, not as good customer support as nVidia, and come out late. That is in America, but Britain is the opposite as i have seen . Also the X1900 XTX is the only one able to find in America so far. It is nigh impossible to find an XT here. So if your in Britain, its ATi, in America, it is nVidia.
