For some reason the whole top secion of my tskmgr is cut off therefore when i ctrl alt del, I'm missing the close button, the file,etc toolbar, and the tabs(processes, performance) So I cant really close it when I ctrl alt del and also, I can see the processes running! This is very frustrating!

Along with that, many of my programs don't work such as internet explorer, windows explorer,etc
the computer shows a pop up window: in this case this pops up when i click MS internet explorer

There doesnt't seem to be any spyware because Use mcaffee internet security suite 2006, adaware, spybot, ms antispyware beta, HJ this. I looked over the log and there are not illegitemate items. I also posted this problem in the HJ log area, but nohelp so far. Perhaps it's a system problem, not virus problem.

If there are any sugestions please tell me. Thanks a trillion!

this might hellp with the c++ runtime error...i'll research the effect of the task manager deal....but that sounds a little malware-esque

Do you have the Google Toolbar installed? If so, does uninstalling it solve the issue?
Do you have McAffee software installed? (especially the internet security suite that includes an antiphishing component?) If so, please follow the instructions bellow:
Right click your internet explorer icon located on your desktop. Choose properties, then the advanced tab, then uncheck the box that says "enable third party browser extensions." Then open internet explorer, select tools from the menu bar, then manage add-ons.Disable Mcafee Antiphishing Filter under the "Browser Help Object" section NOT the "Browser Extension." section. Then go back and recheck the box that says "enable third party browser extensions" under the advanced tab of the Internet Explorer properties menu.
Restart internet explorer and everything should be back to normal..

if these do not work go here and download/install.

also..try double clicking the outside border of task manager...like the blue bar portion of it (thanks wannabe1...almost forgot about that one)

thanks for the help so far.
There is no blue bar at all
if you do ctrl alt del right now, click on the application tab and draw an imaginary cut off line right above where it says task and status...That's all that is there.

i'm n ot a malware expert...but i don't see anything crawling around in there...at least not obvious baddies....let me do a little more research on the issue
