I believe I've followed all the directions to purge my system of this menance, yet it remains. Here is my hijack this file. I continue to have spyware striker 2.5 reinstalling itself on my system. Is there anyway to get rid of this trojan? Appreciate any help.

Click here to download smitRem.exe and save the file to your desktop. Double click on the file to extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.

Next reboot into Safe Mode. You can get there by restarting your computer and continually tapping F8 until a menu appears. Use your arrow to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen. Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish. The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive (where your operating system is installed). You will need that log later.

Next click Start>Settings>Control Panel>Display>Desktop>Customize Desktop>Web and uncheck "Security Info" if present.

Paste the contents of a new HijackThis Log and the contents of smitfiles.txt .

here is the logs you requested, spyware striker is already hard at work irritating me, I wish there was someway to confront these people - its so frustrating to have to spencd this time dealing with this.

Exit HijackThis when done. Reboot, rescan with HijackThis and post a new log here.

Go to Jotti's malware scan

Copy and paste the following file path into the "File to upload & scan" box on the top of the page:

I am on another system. I followed the instructions, deleted the files you indicated, but now it won't stop looping the boot up- the windows XP screen comes on then black screen to routine startup and back to windows xp, there is a flicker of blue screen.

What is going on now, can it be corrected. How?

Hmm.. the entries you fixed won't have caused that - are you able to get a new HJT log from the system?

No, can't stop the looping. Do you think I could have accidently deleted a wrong line from the HJT to cause this - if so can I correct

I doubt it. Can you access Windows Advanced Options - repeatedly tap the F8 key as the computer boots up.

If you open that menu, select the Last Known Good Configuration option and Enter. If that enables you to get back to normal, post a new HJT log here.
