what dvd's should i buy for my sony DW-D26A

the info from my DVD burner says it burns dual layer DVD+R discs, i tried using a 'datawrite 8.5GB DVD+R DL 2.4x speed / 240mins' disc and it failed to read it. Does anyone know what i am doing wrong and exact brand of dick to buy if they got their dual layer to work.

any help would be much appreciated.
