Just on the aspect of mobo's...

thinking about going with:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Dual Core Processor
Geforce 6800GS
some quality sound card...

I don't need SLI, or on-board sound.

What are the best options out there?

All motherboards come with some sort of onboard sound card but you can always upgrade it by a pci sound card.

Look into dfi,abit,msi.

The DFI boards are really great! :tazz:
