I am going to build a new system and I hope to tinker with some FreeBSD.

I am still deciding whether to dual boot the new Desktop I plan to buy, or to use my current Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100 as a FreeBSD machine.

All help would be appreciated.

These are the parts I am thinking of getting:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Dual Core Processor - Retail
MSI K8N Neo4-F Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
Geforce 6800GS

the other stuff i'm sure is not a problem. I am a TOTAL *nix NEWBIE!!!! :tazz:

The only hardware probelm i have ever had when installin linux was my pcmica card. For some reason Mandriva did not like it. I've installed Kubuntu and SuSe and everything works fine. I haven't installd FreeBSD, but you should be ok since its a newer cpu....
