strange network-dhcp problem

hi guys, :tazz:

I have a strange network problem: my LAN card doesn't obtain any addres from DHCP before I reboot the modem. On the other PC in the network this problem doesn't exists, and my laptop doesn't have this issue too.

any idea?

on the offending computer do start > run > cmd > ipconfig /release
then do ipconfig /renew

does it work?

no, renewing the ip times out

I will try again this evening, now I am at work

on the bad machine do start > run > cmd > ipconfig /all before resetting the modem..and then again after resetting the modem....and post both

first: I'm not using windows from two weeks, I am using suse linux

2nd: now the connection works, it seems that I need to restart the modem only when I previeosly plugged the pc's network cable in the laptop

PS: sorry for my bad english
