Bit Long Winded but here goes...
Just bought Call Of Duty 2 for my new PC and graphics are jurky when played in single and multiplayer modes. Spec for my computer are as follows:
Processor: AMD Athlon™ 64 1791MHz
Display: Card ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series
Memory: 512MB
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP
Free Disk Space: 82.33GB
Display Card Memory: 64MB
Display Driver Version: 6.14.10.6587
DirectX Version: 9.0c
Optical Drive: CD/DVD
Sound Card Realtek: AC97 Audio

Taken using a scan from http://gameadvisor.f...e/my_system.jsp

Dont know a lot about computers but my mate says that my ATI grpahics card should be 256MB not 64MB as stated after the scan. COD will only run smoothly when i turn of all the effects and make the graphics look pretty crappy, indicating that the graphics card may be the problem.
Are we right in thinking that an ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series should be 256MB?
Anybody got any suggestions of what might be wrong or is my graphics card broken?
Thanks for any help

from what i can find on that card..it should have UP TO 128 mb of memory...now...depending on exactly which model you bought...you could have onlly bought the 64 mb version...which deffinitely wont' run that game

Using ATI Catalyst Control Centre i got the following info:

Graphics Card Manufacturer Powered by ATI
Graphics Chipset ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series

Bus Type PCI
Current Bus Setting PCI

Memory Size 256 MB
Memory Type HyperMemory

Core Clock in MHz 301 MHz
Memory Clock in MHz 205 MHz

It says memory size 256MB, should this be able to run COD2?

Video Card
Minimum: 3D Hardware accelerated card required - 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible 64 MB (NVIDIA GeForce2 Ultra+ /ATI Radeon 8500+)
You Have: ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series (ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series (0x5954))

FAIL: Sorry, your video card does not meet this minimum requirement. Upgrade to a more powerful video card will make all your applications look better. Click the 'We Recommend' button to see some great options.

Video Card Features - Minimum attributes of your Video Card Video RAM: Required - 64 MB , You have - 256.0 MB
Video Card 3D Acceleration: Required - Yes , You have - Yes
Video HW Transform & Lighting: Required - Yes , You have - Yes
Vertex Shader Ver.: Required - 1.1 , You have - 2.0
Pixel Shader Ver.: Required - 1.1 , You have - 2.0

Really confused now, it sys yes for all the things above but still fails. any idea why?

even though it meets the specifications...i believe COD2 has a rather specific hardware profile....but...in general...if that site says you don't pass...then...it's usually right

What that shows what you have is the ATI express 200 integrated gfx card, its not even on the list of supported cards, check out gaming forum, it is DX9 card so it is capable to play the game however its not capble of playing it properly, what you need is to purchase a proper gfx card something lije an x800GTO or 6800GS no less than an x700 in order to play it properly.
