camtasia studio is good if the game you are running is low on resources and your computer has enough ram\other resources to pump out good FPS on the video recording with no lag

There are some others, but most suck

Camtasia won't return a high frame rate if you try to capture full screen, if there is an option to reduce the window size you can capture at 25 fps then play it back full screen with power DVD or similar

Whats the game, games like source engine games have features to do things like recording in game, and hl2 and css use source tv which is handy so you can record things on a server while spectating letting you get some better fps.

turn fraps on and press F9 when finished press F9 agian.

go to were ever you instaled fraps and you demo will be in a folder some were.

WARNING. fraps saves in.avi so a 2 min demo could have a file size of about 300mb. so you may want to find a .avi converter

encoding video can be hard to do smoothly and with high quality, let alone while a game is running. there is a better way to do it if you have the stuff.

plug the tv out of your video card into another computers capture card. set your gaming computers video out to clone display 1, enable it. go to the other computer, start capturing at whatever settings you want. even dvd quality!

then go to your gaming computer and frag away. when your done, stop recording.

the end result is perfectly smooth video with very high quality.

Ive heard FRAPS is the best one out there. it slows your fps down while playing tho.
