Someone used my computer and had entered something in the address bar, which caused Internet Exploer to sit for about a minute before the list of sites would appear each time I clicked the down arrow to select an address from the list. I decided to clear all of my history to eliminate that problem.

Now the only history I can display is for the current day. History for all other days seems to be lost. Thursday I could only see Thursday's entries, Friday I could only see Friday's entries and today I can only see today's entries. It lists Thursday and Friday, but when I click on them nothing is displayed. I have Explorer set to save history for 999 days.

This is a Windows 98 system which is up to date with Windows updates. I am running McAfee VirusScan 4.5. I am aware that with Windows XP there was an issue with McAfee 7.0 and the Active X Scan causing this problem. I have turned off the Active X scan on this system and it did not get rid of the problem.

Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated, as I use my History list a lot.

Thanks in advance.
