I dont know exactly what is wrong with my 2nd IDE Controller, but I think it has to do with my CD-Rom. I go to "My Computer" and the drives for my CD-Rom and Burner are not there. I dont know what I did or what happened but I need help. <_<

I have an old Comp-Suck (compaq presario 5070). I currently am running Windows 98se. Has CD-rom and a TDK Burner, (NOT recently added) AMD K-6 processor (old school) 220MB of RAM. Hard drive has been replaced numerous times, currently has a Maxtor 40 GB. :teehee:

Cable connection makes the internet much better considering how old this thing is. I would just buy a new one but I need my stuff off of this thing first. So I need access to my CD drives. I cant though due to a Secondary IDE Drive problem. <_<

From Compaq's (HP) site The CD drive is missing or behaves erratically (see steps 2, 4 & 5).

Also, see Compaq Presario PCs - Missing CD Drives or System Lock While Reading Media in CD-RW.
