Recently my computer has been acting oddly.
Sometimes I hear a really high "wheezing" sound, and then after a while, the computer shuts down.
The odd part is that the power light it still on. And I can't turn on the computer again...it seems to still be on.
I have to pull the plug and put it back in...and make the light turn off. And then turn it on again.
Sometimes this happens a few minutes after I first turn on the computer, sometimes hours.
I am extremely confused.
Thanks.

Have you checked to make sure that all the fans are running? It might be that the noise that you are hearing is from a bad fan and the machine is shutting down due to an overtemp condition.

No I haven't. I'm not really computer-savvy.
But thanks, I'll check on that.
