I have a HP Pavilion ZE4805US. The specs are at this link: http://h10025.www1.h...cname=c00248248

I bought a SYBA CardBus to USB 2.0 2-Port Host Controller Adapter which is described at this link:
http://www.syba.com/...5/02/index.html

I installed the latest drivers from the SYBA web site. Everything looked OK; no problems noted in Device Manager. When I plug a USB 2.0 device into the adapter, Windows XP recognizes the device then freezes after about 15 seconds. I have to remove the USB adapter to unfreeze Windows. This has happened with both a Sandisk USB 2.0 Flash drive and a Western Digital USB 2.0 external hard drive.

My operating system is Windows XP Home Edition with SP2. I've installed all available updates from the Microsoft Update site. I've tried booting the PC with and without the USB adapter and USB drive attached with no difference in outcome. The PCMCIA adapter on the PC is a Texas Instruments PCI-1410 CardBus Controller. I haven't been able to find any available driver updates for this device.

Thx,
Mick
