i recently just wiped my hd clean and started from scratch, but when i hooked my computer up to the internet i got little "x"s in my icon tray saying i had spyware.

i then got a program download its self called "spy sheriff" and im getting hundreds of pop up i cant stop i got firefox and google tool bar to stop it and it does nothing.

my last problem is the performance of my pc its slow and laggy.... i have 700+mb ram and a amd athlon 2400.

also when i try to oped task manager its says "task manager has been disabled by administrator" but i only made 1 accout on the computer and i havent touched (because i dont know were it is) the administrator account.

any help for any problems would be much apreciated.

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.

Spy Sheriff is actually rogue anti-spyware. It can get you seriously infected.

Please follow all the directions found here. After you get to step 5, if your problem is not resolved, post a HijackThis log in the Malware forum. If your problem persists after getting a clean bill of health from a malware expert, return here and we'll continue troubleshooting. If your problem is resolved by a malware expert, let me know. I always like to know the results :tazz: .

btw how does that spy sherrif get on your computer sooo fast.
