OK, but...will the other default XP load?

(trying to discern where the problem was...uxtheme.dll, video driver, or theme itself)

No the other one still doesn't load, but I'm not particularly bothered now I have this.

I'm using Omega Drivers on a Radeon 9800XT for info. Thanks.

sounds like you lost a theme file in the process....you could run

start >run
sfc /scannow
<enter>

to restore the lost/damage files

Have your windows xp cd ready

you can also try extracting these files and putting them in the folder

C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes

So that luna.theme is in the folder and the subfolder LUNA is in that folder
