When I mouse over links in web pages the status bar at the bottom of IE shows the internet address you'll be taken to if you click on the link. When I click on the link, a "%20" gets added into the URL that's showing in the status bar. I was just curious about this and was wondering if someone could enlighten me. Thanks.

Hi Longarm93, welcome to Geeks To Go!!!!
this is accualy more related to html and web programming, but luckly for all the users the guys and girls who give support in the interenet and browsers forums are ussaly people who started out as web programers. or atleat i did. "%20" is a specil value assinged to the symbol space. if you where to use that in HTML it whould show up as a space in the page produced. it is added to some urls when they are searched for to show that there is a space there as in The Cat in the Hat may be turned to the%20cat%20in%20the%20hat as so not to be shown as thecatinthehat. which whould have a complety different meaning.

hope that awsers your question. :tazz:

I prefer the simple answer to this one:

It's supposed to do the %20 thing. :tazz:
