I'm new to this forum and hoping someone will be able to assist. Anybody have an idea what might be causing my new 15.4 display to mangle an old "dos" type full screen application as seen on this link?

As can be seen in the comparison there is no problem on my XP Pro Dell! I've been through all the normal font and resolution changes, but nothing seems to work.

said dos program was never designed for a wide screen format and the driver that comes with the program (a custom vga driver) just cannot handle it.

It's kind of like going to the bar, getting soused, and waking up in the wrong house at 5:20 am and trying to find the bathroom

just a guess

I'd say thats an excellent guess. Accept it's more like waking up in the wrong house at 5:20 AM and trying to stumble your way around to find a bathroom when if you lived there, you'd know it had an outhouse because the plumming hadn't been installed yet.

My money is on the fact that it's a wide screen and the dell is not....
